SEAD Gallery Intern
Work load: 10-15 hours/week

Responsibilities: Provide support of SEAD Gallery coordination, including communicating between artists and curators, assisting in marketing efforts, helping to install and deinstall exhibits, working with the Gallery Director, Gallery Coordination Team, and Events Director to plan exhibits, programming, and events. This position is located in the SEAD Gallery and Bookshop and entails daily gallery operations, event staffing (sometimes outside normal work hours), and support with marketing, including social media post writing, blog writing, creating newsletters, drafting press releases, maintaining websites, and additional marketing efforts across Advent GX projects. Proficiency in WordPress is extremely helpful. This position may also be asked to help organize and merchandise our newly added Library and Bookshop. Additionally, this intern is responsible for generally ensuring that Advent GX projects are well promoted and represented. A background or field of study in gallery operation, communication, or marketing is desired. Availability over Fall 2017 and at least one Saturday a month is required. SEAD Bookshop Head Intern
Work load: 10-15 hours/week

Responsibilities: Provide support for the Gallery Coordinator by sorting, pricing, and merchandising our collection of books. Will be asked to read books from our collection in order to write a short review that will be displayed in the bookshop. This position is located in the SEAD Gallery and Bookshop and entails daily bookshop operations, event staffing (sometimes outside normal work hours), support in both maintaining and expanding our bookshop, and may include social media and blogging support. This position involves being in charge of interviewing, scheduling, and training other bookshop interns and encourages you to take ownership of this position.
